New project is only for entrepreneurs

There have been many questions about the new pilot project for individual entrepreneurs. We’ve put together what you need to know. 

The new pilot project applies only to business payments. Regular transfers between individuals will not be taxed.

If you send money to your parents, children, relatives, or friends, or receive financial support, the new rules do not apply to these transactions. Information about all transfers remains strictly confidential within Alif’s information system.

What will change for entrepreneurs:

— the tax rate will decrease from 6% to 3%;

— taxes will be calculated automatically;

— 1% of each payment amount will be returned to the payer as cashback;

— reports will be generated automatically, and there will be no tax audits for two years.

The new rules have not taken effect yet. At the moment, banks and the National Bank of Tajikistan are carrying out technical preparations. Transfers made before the official launch will not be checked or analyzed under this system.
